    Where will you be working? 

    Our Rail team manages a wide range of specialist rail engineering works and projects delivering civils, track, power, electrical solutions and station structures across all rail routes in the UK.

    What will you be doing?
     

    The Site Supervisor in the civil engineering industry plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the daily operations of construction sites. This position ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Site Supervisor coordinates and supervises the work of various trades and contractors, monitors compliance with project plans and specifications, and acts as a key liaison between the project management team and on-site workers.

     
    • Oversee all on-site activities to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with plans and schedules
    • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, labour, and equipment to maintain productivity
    • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and all relevant regulations
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, identify hazards, and address defects promptly
    • Promote and enforce a safe working environment for all personnel on site
    • Act as the key point of contact between site teams and project management
    • Facilitate clear communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers
    • Provide regular progress updates and contribute to site meetings
    • Manage materials, labour, and equipment to optimise usage and minimise waste
    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, progress, incidents, and resource usage
    • Proactively resolve on-site issues to prevent delays and maintain project timelines
    • Make informed decisions on construction methods and escalate critical issues when required
    • Ensure all documentation, including permits and inspection reports, is accurate and up to date

    What you’ll bring
     

    Preferable Rail experience with COSS competency, However not essential.

    Proven experience in a supervisory role within the civil engineering or construction industry.

    Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and materials.

    Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide on-site personnel.

    Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

    Health & Safety awareness and qualifications

    Relevant CSCS card

    SSSTS accreditation

    Keen attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
